Medicaid is a cornerstone of the American health care system.

The federal program provides health insurance to more than 70 million low-income people and people with disabilities. But that's about to change. According to estimates by the

Congressional Budget Office, Medicaid

will lose $1 trillion over the next 10 years, and 10 million Americans could become uninsured by 2034.

This is the result of President Trump's signature tax and spending bill. He signed into law earlier this month.
