bitten a lot by mosquitoes, it might be personal. UW researcher Jeff Riffle will tell us why. He's been studying

why mosquitoes bite some people over others in an effort to reduce the diseases they spread.

I'll talk with him in a minute. But first, here's what's coming up this week.

The Seattle City Council is set to take up a bill tomorrow that would expand the police department's use of license plate reading technology.

The measure passed out a committee last week. If approved by the full council, the tech would be in hundreds of police vehicles.

In a report to the council,

SPD, says the high-speed cameras

capture images of license plates

as they move into view.

Software then deciphers the characters

on the plate.

There are significant privacy concerns.
