Well, thanks for listening to the Please Convince me podcast. My name is Jim Wallace. And we are just wrapping up our series that we began, I think, back in April or May

or something, about our issues related to the doctrines and essential truth, an essential truth claims

of the Christian worldview.

And if you go to our website at Please Convinceme.com, you will see there is an entire section called Doctrine on that site,

which takes a look at the need for creeds within the Christian faith, and it takes a look at some of the principles laid out in the first

creed, the Apostles' Creed, as we look at some of the essential truths related, and we've already

done that, look at the essential truths related to the nature of man, the nature of salvation,

of God, the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and times. And now we're looking at the last part.

And if you think about the creed itself and the early creed, the Apostles' Creed,

you'll see that for the most part, there's an important section of the creed

that deals with believing in the community of saints.

And what they would describe as, the creed at least, would describe as the community of saints. And what they would describe as the creed at least would

describe as the Holy Catholic Church. Sometimes you'll see it described as the Holy Apostolic Church.

You'll see any number of ways that, in fact, the creed is first written. And sometimes people

will look at that and say, well, gosh, you know, the Catholic Church, what is that all about?

And what we're going to talk about today is we're going to talk about what the essential, Christian essentials are, related to the nature of this community of believers that we call the church.
