Turn in the scripture, please, to the book of 1 John,

first epistle of John, the fourth chapter, 1 John 4th, and 7th verse.

So we spoke on what love does.

And we've already talked about love that believes

rather than love that feels.

We've already talked about love that lasts. We've already talked about love that lasts.

We've already talked about love that forgives.

And now we've been getting into love that gives.

And in 1st John, our text, he said, said beloved let us love one another now this term we're going to

see again and again one another refers to your fellow believer your brother in Christ now you're going to hear me say that more than once probably tonight.

Watch out for it.

He said, let us love one another, for love is of God,

and everyone that loves is born of God and knows God.

It is the greatest distinguishing mark of a real child of God, a real believer,

is that this love that God is in you and coming through you.

Now this is quite a statement, isn't it?

He that loves not, knows not God.

If you don't know this love, you don't know God. You can be religious. You can go to church

and not know God. You can be baptized, sprinkled, number of things. Name on the roster, be a member,

and not know God.
