Summary

For this episode, we partnered with truth to talk about vaping: why we do it, what it’s like to quit and how anxiety plays in. We talk with Victoria Annunziato @kingvictober who recently quit live on social media with help from #ThisIsQuitting, the first of its kind text-to-quit vaping service, and we got some cool advice from Davi at @breathwrk on how breathing exercises can make things easier for quitters. And welcome back to Teenage Therapy. This one is a special episode because it's actually

0:19.9

an important issue for truth. Um, and I'm kind of excited for this one because I feel

0:24.7

like we haven't touched on drugs and stuff a lot. Um, and it's something that I really

0:30.8

want to touch on, especially vaping. Like if you've seen my Twitter, you'll see that

0:34.4

Maui's just like talking about vaping because it genuinely is like a wonder to me, one of

0:38.5

the great wonders of the world. Um, specifically the social pressure to vape, um, damn, we're

0:45.5

getting right into it. Oh, not bad. But yeah, like this also is a good in here. So it's

0:51.4

a bad, but the social pressure to vape is weird because you know how like when you see movies

0:59.7

like they're like a really old and you see videos that are really old like smoking was

1:03.8

everywhere. Like it was normalized like in restaurants and airplanes. Yeah, they would

1:08.8

also like advertise it too. And like I love Lucy episode. You see at the end. What's

1:14.5

my love Lucy? I love Lucy. It's like an I think 60s. It's an old show. It was the one

1:21.2

of the first shows to I think have reruns. Oh, and they advertise smoking it. Yeah. And

1:27.0

like a whole bunch of like other shows like back then and back in the day would advertise

1:30.6

smoking. But I feel like that's how it is with vaping now. That so many people see it

1:35.8

like as like it's not a big deal. It's like totally normal. Everyone does it like worry

1:40.4

why are you so against it? And it's not going to be for another 50 years. They're going

1:45.0

to be like, Oh, shoot. It's actually like not good. Why did it? How are teens vaping

1:49.4

like everywhere? No one said anything like it's so good. Yeah, I think a part of it
