I was going to weigh in on the freedom of movement, the return of freedom of movement, although obviously it's not freedom of movement and neither is it liberty of motion, but it is an extension to European Union citizens, a potential extension to European Union citizens of, for the under 30s, if you like, that the young Europeans could come and live and work in Britain as part of a wider reset of relations.

But I mean, maybe we'll talk about that a little later, I'm not sure.

It's Thursday, of course, and Mystery is on the way at 12.

But it's a weird one doing this job when you're a parent. I've had a child in both cohorts

this year, the A-level cohort and the GCSE cohort. And this morning we've, we've had a second

round of results and this is their story, not mine. So I'll leave it at describing myself as an

extremely proud father on both mornings.

But I remember Nick saying something many, many years ago, long before.

I don't know if I was even, I must have been a dad, but Nick Ferrari's kids are older than mine.

His sons are quite a bit older than mine.

And I remember him approaching the subject

to phone ins on the morning of exam results with the knowledge that there will be people listening

who haven't done very well or haven't done as well as they hoped. And of course there will be the

parents listening. And that really stayed with me. And as a result of that, in many ways, I've stayed away from the subject entirely.

I haven't sort of thrown open the phone lines to A-level results day or GCSE results day.
