0:34.1	message we'll find out what happened as a result of one woman's attempt to
0:38.7	establish herself as the master of her own destiny. Alistair Begg is teaching
0:44.0	from Genesis chapter 3. We're looking today at verse 13.
0:53.8	Those of you who have traveled in Scotland and many of you have, I know because you've
0:57.3	told me that you've completed your educational program by going there, have noted or will
1:04.4	know it when you go, that especially when you get beyond Perth and up into the
1:09.7	Highlands of Scotland, you very quickly come on castles which are no longer
1:15.5	inhabited. If you do what your art teacher encouraged you to do when you were
1:20.3	doing art appreciation, namely stand back far enough and squeeze your eyes, you
1:26.3	can begin to see that even in their ruined condition there is a splendor about
1:32.4	these edifices that speaks to their former glory and so while we would have to
1:39.4	conclude that what we're looking at are ruins, nevertheless in one sense they
1:47.4	are glorious ruins. Now I mention that because that is one apt way of understanding
1:55.9	how men and women are viewed in light of the events that are described for us in
2:01.9	Genesis chapter 3. The Bible tells us that when God finished the work of
2:07.1	creation he was absolutely satisfied. He pronounced it good and the Bible tells
2:13.5	us that the apex of his creative handiwork was in the construction first of
2:20.6	Adam and then of Eve. These individuals that he made were not morally neutral
2:27.7	but the Bible says that they were actually made created with a positive bias
2:33.9	with an inclination to do what is good but and that's the event that is
