Hey everybody it's James Lindsay welcome to another episode of new discourse bullets where I give a short bullet point type summary of a single topic from

woke Marxism that we all need to understand so we can stop it.

And in this case, I'm not talking about woke the way I usually do.

I'm talking about a woke right, not a woke left.

We're all very familiar with the woke left if you're a listener to this podcast at least I'm sure and if not I have

about 800 billion hours of podcast that's hyperbole you can go listen to to get familiar with the woke left if this is your first

exposure somehow to what's been happening in our country for the last 10 to 50 years

depending on how you want to count it but I want to talk about the woke right. Now the controversy around the woke right is A that it exists and B if that's the right name for it and that's a complicated question. I don't know if calling it the woke right

is the right way to go.

I'll put that card straight on the table.

It might deserve a different name.

We could call it, I think as, I think finding a name for radical splinter movements is difficult

there was a lot of fighting over the woke left or just the woke as we tend to call it a number of years

ago and that fighting you know if ever a we tend to call it a number of years ago.

And that fighting, you know, a long time,

for a long time people called it the regressive left.

And that term didn't stick, partly because it's so progressive that people had a hard time understanding how it is regressive.

Secondly, if you ask my opinion, regressive has too damn many syllables in it.

You have to have extremely simple terminology,

not necessarily conceptually simple, but in linguistic structure for it to stick. Regressive left certainly did not stick and it ended

up being called woke and I remember the fights over whether or not it should be called

woke or regressive left is more descriptive and there I think there might have been other terms I don't remember
