Dr. Bernard, we've been trying to work our way through all nine spiritual gifts that Paul lists in 1st Corinthians chapter 12.

I want to ask you about another one today. I would also say to all of our audience members that if they want to hear your discussion of the other gifts of the spirit,

But today I want to specifically ask you about a gift that Paul mentions in verse 10, which

he calls the working of miracles.

Now, as Pentecostals, we believe that God can perform a miracle at any time

through any believer who prays in Acts and faith. So if that's the case, I think the question then

becomes, why does Paul cite the working of miracles as a special spiritual gift, especially when

he notes that not every believer will have all the spiritual gifts

working in their life, or they potentially might not have them all.

But the working of miracles is listed as one of the nine supernatural spiritual gifts

of 1st Corinthians 12 12 with the indication not everybody

is going to exercise every gift. I would say every spirit-filled believer could potentially

exercise any of these gifts as the need arises and as the Lord wills. But it's not likely that

any one person would be used in all nine, at least not on a

regular basis. And it's very likely that when someone is used in certain gifts, they become

familiar with that, they yield to that, they have faith for that, and so they're likely to be

used again and again in those same gifts as opposed to
