So when you have a pandemic, there's basically two ways to respond to it.

One is to minimize deaths, particularly a pandemic that strikes

disproportionately old people, poor people, people, and poor health. You either

protect those people and harm your economy, slow down your economy

over a period of time, number one, which seems to be the big debate in America.

Actually it's not even protect those people.

You try to protect everybody, because eventually everybody

knows somebody who's old or in poor health

and they will transmit the virus to them.

So either you do that or you just say, you know these people are

expendable. We'll just let them die and we're going to keep our economy rolling along.

Now, there's a third way that has not been adopted by the United States.

You have several blue states that are trying to adopt it but

they're getting such pressure that they're kind of cracking under that pressure.

Gavin Newsom in California, Governor Kate Brown here in Oregon, both backed out, they're relaxing the restrictions, right?

This is happening in blue states all across the country because the pressure is so great.

And understandably, you know Cuomo today on TV was talking about how in New York

suicides are up, substance abuse is up, spousal abuse is up, you know domestic

violence is up, all things that could have been predicted.
