Scriptures Referenced in This Episode:

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23 (NLT)

“12 Sin came into the world because of what one man did, and with sin came death. This is why everyone must die—because everyone sinned…

15 But God’s free gift is not like Adam’s sin. Many people died because of the sin of that one man. But the grace from God was much greater; many people received God’s gift of life by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ....

17 One man sinned, and so death ruled all people because of that one man. But now those people who accept God’s full grace and the great gift of being made right with him will surely have true life and rule through the one man, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:12, 15, 17 (NCV)

Terms Learned in This Episode:

Nucleus: The largest and most important organelle in our cells. The nucleus holds a special package called DNA.

DNA: A biomolecule that holds a code full of information that builds more cells and proteins, which build everything in our bodies.

Organelle: “Little organ.” Organelles are little things inside our tiny cells that have very important jobs to do. They are like our cells' own organs.

Molecule: A creation made from very specific tiny pieces called atoms hooked together.

Information: Information tells us something. It can remove uncertainty, or remove what we don’t know by helping us understand something. It is learning and knowing.

RNA: A molecule that copies information from DNA and brings it to the ribosome printers.

Protein: Molecules in our bodies that create cells and perform many important jobs.

Inherited: Something is passed down and given to someone.

Sin Nature: Our inheritance of sin from Adam and Eve’s first sin. Sin is a part of who we are as humans.

Last week, we zoomed way into the human body to look at the tiny, busy cities inside of ourselves.

If you have not yet listened to episode 57 from last week, I highly recommend going back and listening to that episode before this one, because to understand

1:29.4

today's lesson, it will really help to be able to picture those tiny cells inside of your

1:35.0

body. You might remember from last week that an adult human has around 30 trillion cells

1:42.1

inside of their body, and a child has around 17 trillion cells. And every single

1:48.6

second, our bodies make around 1 million new cells. There is a whole lot going on inside of our

bodies, because we are wonderfully made by God. Our tiny cells show us God's careful designs

and how, as we learned last week from Colossians 1, 16 to 17, Jesus holds all things together,
