I'm so thankful for the joy of welcoming you to the compelled podcast. I'm your host,

Emma Mae McDaniel, and friend, this is just going to be so fun.

I wanted to read a psalm over us today just as we get into our time together.

And I just pray that this is a song over your soul wherever you are today.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come into his presence

with singing. Know that the Lord, he is God. It is he who made us and we are his. We are his people and the

sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.

Give thanks to him, bless his name.

For the Lord is good.

His steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.

Sometimes you just need to pause and praise.

I was reading in Genesis this morning and I just took note.

I was in Genesis 21 and Abraham, something I've recognized all throughout Genesis is that Abraham would regularly stop and build an altar to worship the Lord.

Or he, like this morning in chapter 21, he stopped and planted a tree after seeing God's blessing and provision.

And he worshiped the Lord, the eternal God.

And one of the things that I took away after reading through that, just multiple times, was, wow, there is a powerful shift that happens in our souls whenever we are intentional to pause and praise God all throughout our day.

And so I hope that this is just a moment where whatever it is that you came

into this podcast with, we can just pause and praise the Lord because he is always worthy of our praise.

We are in one of my favorite passages of scripture today, John 21, to give a little bit of context

of what's going on before we get to the few verses that we're in,
