Today we're going to dive into Reiki. A lot of you have emailed throughout the years and asked me to do a show just on Reiki, what it is, how we can use it and how it can help expand and enhance our life.

I had no idea what Reiki was back in 2005. I'd never even heard of it. And then one Saturday

afternoon, I was visiting a metaphysical show looking for crystals when a woman came up to me and

said, my guides have a message. Can I pass it on to you? And I said, of course, please share.

I remember she smiled and said, you're a healer. My guides keep saying the word Reiki. Well, I thought

she was trying to sell me some magical crystal or some healing water, but she just laughed and said,

no, I'm here selling jewelry. Sometimes I get messages and pass them on.

I think you're supposed to look into Reiki.

When I returned home, I did just that.

And I learned that Reiki is a Japanese word, which means universal light,

and that it's a form of hands-on healing.

It's a 2,500-year-old healing technique that was rediscovered by Dr. Usui.

The next day, my family and I went to Barnes & Noble after church,

and I remember I found a magazine on Reiki and picked out a few books so I could learn some more.

I read that a Reiki attumament connects you with universal life force energy and activates your

ability to heal. When you use Reiki, you're not using your own energy. You're simply allowing

the universal life force to flow through you. I discovered that Reiki, quote, heals the cause

and eliminates the effects.

This intrigued me, even though it seemed like a tall order.

How could putting your hands on someone do all that?
