All right, so turn to your Bibles to 1st Timothy, Chapter 4.

We'll look at a couple of the scriptures, but they're real close.

1st Timothy chapter 4.

And the title of the message is, what is that

or maybe you've never heard the word or maybe you've only heard the word here at

gateway or maybe you've heard it like you refer to the Presbyterian church.

And so as I tell you what it is,

that literally means an elder governed church

is what that's supposed to mean.

But this is not what we're not talking

about being a part of the Presbyterian church.

So First 74, verse 14, says, Paul says to Timothy, do not neglect the gift that is in you which was given to you by prophecy with the lane on of the hands of the

eldership. And if you notice that word eldership,

if you just look at the screen for a minute,

here's the old King James version,

and it uses the word presbytery.

So this word in the Greek is presbytery. So this word in the Greek is presbyteryron, which means

elders, plural, or an eldership or a council of elders. Presbyure Ross is a single elder, that's singular.

Presby's an old person, so just an elderly person.

Just so you will know, Presbytis is an old woman, presbytis is an old man.
