wa salatu wa salam wa aala ashram ala biya'yari wa al-mulsalin

Nabina Muhammadin wa aala alihi wa sahbihi wa t-ta-bina wa

mantebi aam biya'a sannin ila yumidini wa bai

We praise Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala

We send blessings and salutations upon Muhammad

al-Allah wa a'ihi wa sallam

He's entire household, all his companions

may Allah bless them all and bless every single one of us

My beloved brothers and sisters, the term

Thikr is used often and it is important for us to know the context

in which this word is used in the Quran and by the

Sunnah of Rasulullah, salallahu ala ala a'ihi wa sallam

For example Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Quran

Ya ayun halalin a'a a'manud

Qawthirah, O you who believe, remember Allah greatly, a great remembrance

So generally when we use the term Thikr, many of us would think that it means to sit down and to repeat

the praise of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala

or the name of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala or a statement of

acknowledgement of the status of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
