Summary

Jesus did not throw words around, so it is significant that he used the word “mammon” at least four times in the New Testament. When he used it, he did not simply mean money; he deliberately used the word “mammon” to show us what happens when we become attached to money. But mammon’s influence does not just stop with wealth. If we are not vigilant, this spirit will extend to every area of our lives and convince us to trust it instead of God. It tries to motivate us to do more things for it than for God, with the goal of replacing God as the source of what we need.

0:31.1	yet we have not taken the time to really do a study on what mammon is. And so I want to call this study what is mammon I want you to see and and I really enjoyed the

1:01.0	Jesus didn't just throw words around and he used the word mammon at least four
1:06.5	times in the new testament and when Jesus used the word mammon he was not saying in other words money he had a very
1:16.6	specific reason for using it and sometimes the translators don't follow the
1:21.4	story and when you don't follow the story that's being told,
1:26.2	then you can just conclude, well, mammon means money. And I want to show you that Jesus used the word mammon on purpose to try to show you what happens when you are attached to it and what goes on in your life.
1:41.0	And so let's read verses 10 through 14 out loud together and
1:46.4	we'll begin and I believe the day this is really really gonna bless you of
1:51.2	course mamma is gonna be completely destroying in your life today but it's going to bless you.
