What's up, everyone? It's been a long time since we've last recorded a Capp's face-off podcast,

but the team is back on the ice at what was formerly known as Kettler Capital's Iceplex,

now MedStar Capitals Ice Plex. So the season is almost upon us.

I'm Rob Carlin, along with J.J. Regan, who were both out there today with the team.

I spoke with Matt Niskenen.

We're going to hear that interview in just a couple of minutes.

We spoke a little bit with Brooks Orpick afterwards.

JJ, it was just awesome after this incredibly fun summer of watching from afar,

everyone's day with the cup and experiencing this all sort of together.

Like the whole Caps Nation has really experienced this all together.

But we were joking as we left the complex day.

It's like, all right, let's go.

Let's get back at this.

It's time.

We saw Ovi on the ice in Florida, but to see him and Baxter and Niskin and Orpick and Coozy and Holpe and Carlson, it does start feeling like it's upon us.

It definitely does. First, I'm going to have to get used to calling it MedStar iceplex instead of Kettler.

So used to just referring to it as Kettler.

Well, someone joke, and I think I've said this before, someone joke with it, MedStar

Capital's Ice Plus, it's the MCI Center now, which is really funny.

But you're absolutely right. It's time to get going. I know the offseason has been incredibly short, and everyone loves summer, and I wish there were a few more weeks of summer. But to see all the players back on the ice, it's informal workouts, but you see them on the ice, and you're just going, all right, let's go. let's suit up, let's get into the games already, you know, we haven't started with the preseason
