So I first heard this funny sounding word, Hugo culture. A couple years ago when I was doing that

series with The Lodge at Woodlock and I went to their garden farm and interviewed their farmers.

They had an entirely organic farm-to-table scenario where they grew the food that the guests at the spa would eat.

And I saw this bed, this like raised bed that seemed to be in process.

And I asked them what it was.

And they were like, oh, that's our Hugel culture bed.

And I had never heard of it before.

And since then, I've started hearing this word,

Hugel culture, say that 100 times fast, over and over again, as it is becoming, it's a very old practice that is becoming more and more popular as

organic farmers are becoming more and more prevalent. So today, I sit down with

flower farmer, Sarah Wagstaff, of Sueot Farm,

who grows almost exclusively using hougal culture. Her whole flower farm is hughal culture.

This conversation was so inspiring. It seriously had me looking at this tree that has to come down

and thinking about, can I make hougal culture beds in my entire

backyard in Florida? It's such an interesting centuries-old technique that actually makes so much

sense and continues feeding your beds year after year. I hope you are as fascinated with it as I
