Summary

This will require some thinking on your part. We are trying to get a careful, biblical and thoughtful understanding of God's plan for Israel as revealed in the Bible and in Romans 11 in particular. We need a biblical and balanced view of Israel. Romans 11 gives us just this. We see the fact that Israel rejected the Messiah. We see why they didn’t believe. We see that this failure is not universal. And we see that there is a glorious hope for their future! When you understand God’s gracious plan for Israel you see into the heart of God’s grace toward yourself as well.

0:07.0	Romans. We're in Romans 11 and some of the issues we're going to talk about
0:11.6	today are they're related to Israel in the church and they're important issues.
0:15.5	Please trust me on this. They matter.
0:18.8	What ultimately is God's plan for Israel in the future? That's one of the things we're going to ask like what really is according to the scriptures what is God's plan for Israel in the future and is the church a replacement for Israel is it like Israel no No more. Church, yes. Is that the scenario? It's not.

1:05.0	So I want to work to make it clear, that's my point, make this passage clear,
1:09.0	because people who don't understand Jewish and Gentile issues miss out on a large portion of the Bible.
1:15.6	So as you start to get familiar with these things, even if you're hearing it for the first time
1:19.7	and you're starting to just go, I wasn't even, this wasn't even on my radar this Jewish
1:24.3	Gentile stuff it wasn't really on my radar before well now that it is well the book of
1:28.3	Hebrews is going to make more sense to you right the book of Galatians is going to
1:31.8	make more sense to you the book of acts is going to make more sense to you. The words and
1:35.2	parables of Jesus are going to make more sense to you. So much of the
1:38.6	scriptures will just jump out to you with more clarity now. So that's why it's worth the labor. So Romans, let's just
1:44.8	read verses one through six to kind of get what we did last week. This is like kind of
1:48.4	of by way of review. I'll just read through the passage to set the stage for us so it says in verse one of
1:54.8	Romans 11 I say then has God cast away his people certainly not for I also am an
