Summary

On today's show, Dane is joined by Wolves beat writer Jace Frederick from the Pioneer Press to try and dissect what is behind the Wolves pattern, dating back three seasons now, of blowing 20-point leads in the second half. Dane and Jace do this by look specifically into the areas in which Anthony Edwards, Chris Finch and Karl-Anthony Towns hold blame (or don't). This is the Dane Moore MBA podcast brought to you by the Genesis Company coming at your Wednesday morning.

0:19.3

It's November 1st.

0:24.0

The Wolves play at Denver Nuggets tonight at Target Center.

0:30.0

Obviously, this is their first game after a pretty brutal loss in Atlanta on Monday, where they had a 19-point lead at halftime and ended up losing by 14 points.

0:35.8

Here with Wolves beatwriter, Jace Frederick from the Pioneer Press.

0:39.6

Jase, that's the type of loss that I think is like normally very okay for the beginning of this season,

0:47.9

three games in whatever, you know, teams, particularly in today's NBA,

0:52.9

blow 20 point leads all the time.

0:54.6

But this is a pattern for the wolves and this group in particular for what I think really

1:02.4

actually makes this an interesting topic is you can't really blame Rudy for it.

1:08.5

Because for three years now, the wolves have been getting

1:13.1

20 point leads and often, not all the time, but often watching them, you know, completely

1:19.5

disintegrate, which obviously precedes Rudy's time here. So I don't know why this isn't maybe

1:26.5

the most fun topic to be discussing. It's

1:28.7

definitely the topic around the wolves right now is, you know, what is behind these wolves

1:33.9

meltdowns, not just the one in Atlanta on Monday, but over the last few years. And because you

1:41.4

can somewhat remove Rudy from this, I think the three places we kind of look here or at the top in Chris Finch, Anthony Edwards and Carl Anthony Towns and like, quote unquote, assigning blame.

1:55.1

I don't think there's one person that's more than anyone else.

1:57.4

But we're just trying to diagnose why this is happening over and over again.

2:02.5

You wrote about this yesterday at the Pioneer Press.

2:07.4

Start me off by like, you're sitting down and you're like, okay, I know I need to write about

2:11.7

the wolves consistently blowing big leads.
