Summary

As you know, Hamas launched a massive attack on Israel, taking hostages. Israel is in the process of responding by declaring war on Hamas and invading Gaza. Everyone is talking about this, and rightfully so. But as we were watching what was going on, we noticed something very interesting about the nature of the debate going on within the left. So today, we are going to discuss some of the basic details to get everyone on the same page, but then we are going to dive into a discussion about how what is going on in the Middle East may be highlighting divisions in the US we didn't expect...

0:00.0	All right. So as everyone knows, Hamas launched a massive attack into Israel. In fact, there's
0:05.8	been such a loss of life without a war being declared that it's so bad that the people in Israel
0:13.1	actually comparing it to their 9-11. And obviously, everyone is talking about this. Everyone is
0:17.8	providing analysis with respect to the motivations behind Hamas, motivations behind Iran, what Israel's response is going to be, what this is going to be
0:24.9	for what had been a series of successful peace talks within the Middle East with the Abrahamic
0:30.1	Accords. And we're going to touch on some of that. But one of the things that we wanted to do
0:36.7	today that is a little bit different is we wanted to focus a little bit more on some of the. But one of the things that we wanted to do today that is a little bit different
0:38.3	is we wanted to focus a little bit more on some of the arguments that are coming up because
0:42.1	a very interesting, let's say intellectual battle is taking place on the left within the United
0:49.4	States and within a lot of the Western world. And it's, it's revealing some intellectual divisions,
0:55.2	uh, that could be very, very significant. So we are going to talk about, again, what has taken
1:01.1	place, what it means for the region, what it perhaps means for the United States. But there is another
1:07.5	argument here that we just don't feel a lot of people have been covering on right now that is, let's just say, interesting because it could show us the potential path that the left is going to go in the future.
