Summary

I did not expect to have as much fun as I did in recording this episode. In this thought experiment, we explore what it would be like to discover and study governmental standards that exist in our world, as an outsider looking in. We also look at what God’s standards are. Fani Willis, the disgraced prosecutor, claims she was doing God’s will. I wonder what God thinks of Willis’ standards. We also talk about the CEO of United Airlines, the standards he sets, and the offers that are being made to Claudine Gay after her firing from Harvard.

What does God’s Word say?
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Hebrews 10:26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Titus 2:12 Training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Colossians 3:5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Romans 1:18-32 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, ...

So here's the thought experiment. Think of a time where you have been in a place where you could tell there was a standard set for behaviors.

0:15.0

You could look at the negative side.

0:17.9

You could say, maybe you've been in prison.

0:21.0

Well, there's standards. I've never been in prison. I work with people who have been, and there are

0:27.7

standards. In prison, if you disrespect a person, you should expect to get shanked.

0:34.2

So you don't go around disrespecting people

0:37.4

unless you're part of the shankin crowd, okay?

0:41.0

You could go to the positive. The church experience, like in our church. There are some of

0:49.1

the families who founded that church, God worked through them to found it I should say, there's a standard that

0:56.9

they go through every single morning, a guy named Jim by the way, goes through and shakes the

1:01.9

hand of everybody he possibly can.

1:03.5

I'm talking about a church with five or six hundred people per session.

1:08.4

And just about every single time he knows everybody's name because it's a standard. You can see that standard playing

1:16.5

out. You could look at it in unit cohesion in the military.

1:22.9

That's very obvious standards.

1:24.5

And there's obviously a war against standards.

1:27.2

There are.

1:30.5

But what if we actually came here as utter aliens and we were studying, let's say government?

1:40.0

What standards would we observe?

1:43.0

When I was in Mexico, it took a while for me to not get a heart attack

1:51.0

anytime I got a bill.

1:53.0

These are pesos, right?
