Summary

This is a different style of Buckeye Talk, one with two friends remembering stories from 13 years ago and sharing them like they would over a drink. It's Doug Lesmerises joined by special guest Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch, and the topic is Ohio State's recruitment of Terrelle Pryor, which both Adam and Doug covered intently. The question on this Buckeyefly Effect is what would have happened if Pryor hadn't picked Ohio State and had gone to Penn State or Michigan instead? What would it have meant for the Buckeyes and Jim Tressel? But the deeper topic is the recruitment of Pryor and how the Buckeyes went about it. And all that leads to a final discussion about whether Pryor and the rest of the Tattoo 5 should have their records reinstated, which they asked for this week. We hope you enjoy this one as much as Doug and Adam enjoyed recording it. Thanks for listening to Buckeye Talk from cleveland.com. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. Hey, hey, where you been? But got talk is about to begin. Hey, hey, hey, come on in.

0:25.0

Thanks for the Friday bucket talk from clippin.com special guest. Adam Jardi, legendary Ohio State basketball

0:35.5

writer who in a previous life covered not only Ohio State basketball, but Ohio State football and

0:42.0

Ohio State football recruiting. And he is here because he's one of my best buds and because he knows as

0:48.2

much about the recruitment of Terrell prior as anybody out there. And that's what we are here to

0:53.6

talk about. It is a buck-eye fly effect one that we have planned at him. I reached out to you about

0:58.9

this like two months ago probably. Is that right? Yeah, yeah. First off, thanks for having me on

1:03.7

here because this is really cool to go back down memory lane like this. And my brain has kind of

1:07.9

been racing. I would say for probably the last two months, just thinking of all the different

1:11.9

connections to make here and all the different strands we were trying to put together as we were

1:17.0

recruiting this. It was recruitment unlike any other. No, it was bonkers. And that's what we

1:23.3

want to talk about. The buck-eye fly effect is what if Terrell prior had not come to Ohio State?

1:28.7

And then that became an even more interesting question this week with Terrell prior, the other

1:35.0

members of the tattoo five, Devere Posey, Mike Adams, Dan Heron and Solomon Thomas saying that

1:39.2

they would like their records reinstated. And they called for that in a tweet this week that Terrell

1:45.5

prior put out. And so Adam, there's been like a new renewed conversation about this around name

1:51.9

image and likeness around the tattoo five around Reggie Bush, around the Fab Five. I think it's

1:57.4

something that's going to continue. We're going to get into that a little bit later. But it's not

2:02.2

really the main thrust of what we're going to do here. We do have a tech subscriber poll of whether

2:07.0

people think the tattoo five record should be reinstated. We have a tech subscriber poll on,

2:11.1

are you glad that Terrell prior came to Ohio State? Or you kind of wish he had gone somewhere else?

2:16.2

And you know, there's another question. What did you think of should Jim Tresswell in the moment
