Infatuation is a neurochemical response with a shelf life of about 12 to 18 months. But most of us go into marriage thinking

primarily about what we're getting and expecting that we'll always be able to get that.

All you're going to do is change the way your spouse stumbles, but you don't change the fact

that your spouse stumbles. Admitting it's difficult, it doesn't downgrade. I think it ennobles it.

I've never met anybody happy who isn't also pursuing holy. Selfishness is an ever-present

demon in our marriages. You cannot be intimate with somebody you're lying to. Marriage is one of

the best schools of personal transformation you could

ever enroll in. Dear young married couple, you're in a busy season of your life. You're probably

working and involved in ministry. On top of that, you might even be parents or students.

You're maxed, but you really want to stay connected in your marriage.
