And we are live. Welcome folks to episode 3280 of The Survival Podcast. It's a Thursday,

0:27.7

Jack Show. And today we're going to be talking about gardening, but really more the things to grow,

0:35.4

or specifically the things that I'm going to grow this year. This isn't everything I'm going to

0:41.0

grow, but this is most of what I'm growing. This is a couple of things that got left out,

0:45.8

because I got 25 items here. But what I want to come off with today, where it's in the beginning,

0:50.9

is it's not like I went out and did my annual addiction of looking through seed catalogs in order

0:57.3

to 25 branded things. Of all the things here, there's three that are new trials. The other 22 are things

1:07.2

that have become staples for me on my property and with my gardening. And I'm coming at this today

1:18.3

thing I'm trying to do is make a case for you to develop your own personal staple crops. Because if

1:46.1

you do that, you'll get very good at growing those things. In time, you'll figure out the stuff

1:50.5

that's easy, the stuff you like, and the stuff you can't just get anywhere else, right? And that's

1:55.6

the beauty of it. But you'll also have things that are tried and true for you. So for instance,

2:01.0

one of the things I'll talk about today is, you know, you guys are calling it my tactical assault

2:05.0

squash back there, right? If you're watching the video. And you know, it has become very tried and

2:10.1

true for me in that it is possible for me to grow this stuff without being completely plagued

2:17.7

by the horrible nightmare of squash vine moors that we talked about with our guests yesterday.

2:24.1

Because there's not much of a vine for them to bore into. It's thick and dense. Does that mean

2:29.0

it's the best thing for you to grow? If you primarily want to grow a summer squash and you live

2:34.9

somewhere where you're not completely plagued by the evil that is the squash vine moor, honestly,
