Welcome to another episode of Apostolic Life in the 21st Century.

We are thankful that you have joined us today.

We're looking forward to hearing from Dr. Bernard.

This is a special week in the United Pentecostal Church International because later this

week, students from across North America and probably

from around the world are going to be converging in Indianapolis, Indiana for North American

Youth Congress. And we're excited about that event coming up later this week. So considering that

that's happening, we want to dedicate this particular episode to all of our apostolic students.

We thought we'd asked Brother Bernard a little bit of, for a little bit of life advice today.

And Brother Bernard, if you could go back in time to your own teenage years, and if the teenage

David Bernard were sitting here in front of us today. What are the three or four key pieces of

advice that you would give to your younger self and then by extension to all of our apostolic students

today? Let me start by saying I had a great privilege of being raised in apostolic home by

parents. My father, mother, were both credential ministers of the

UPCI for over 50 years. I grew up in home missions, foreign missions. And so I had so many

advantages of a positive, not only teaching, but example in life. So by God's grace and my parents' influence, I was able to avoid a lot of the major

dangers or bad choices. So I don't have any horrible revelations to tell you. And if I did,

I probably wouldn't. But so it's not as if, well, here's the worst things I did,

but neither do I want to give great credit to myself

as if I were the self-creator of these blessings.

So I would say several things that I've learned in my own life

of maybe good choices that looking back
