My guest today is Gabriel Sherman.

He's a special correspondent of Andy Fair, but he wrote a book, the definitive book about

Roger Ailes and Fox News.

I wanted to have this conversation because I think that we all know of Fox News and you

know every once in a while you accidentally flip it on and watch a couple of minutes and

are just appalled by what you see.

But you really need to know Ailes' history and the history of his political involvement

in the way Fox has been a part of the GOP establishment for literally decades to truly understand

how we got to where we are today with Donald Trump as president.

So much of the sort of that journey goes down Fox News.

For the people who actually turn out in vote in Republican primaries and the people who

show up at Donald Trump rallies, he had already been a credible political voice going back

to his years as a Fox News commentator.

It was a fascinating conversation.

It's a hell of a good book.
