It's excruciating to think back to the Brexit referendum of 2016. So I won't linger on it for too long.

Now this is a once in a lifetime chance.

So you remember that very controversial £350 million a week for the NHS on the side of the bus?

And yes, let us take back control of our borders.

Ending uncontrolled migration from the EU.

Because I want a better deal for the people of this country.

And we would do lots of great trade deals with countries outside the EU,

which would give our companies our exporters lots of opportunities.

If we burst out of the shackles of Brussels, we would be able to begin immediately

with those long neglected free trade opportunities, which we can't do at the moment.

And then there was this broader sort of nebulous idea of taking back control.
