0:59.6	I want to first tell you a quick story from the book of Exodus, the 17th chapter, because it has a profound lesson to teach us today about fasting
1:05.0	indirectly. It's the story of Moses and the Amalekites, Moses and the children of Israel fighting the Amalakites, and God
1:17.1	told him to go up on the mountain and lift his hands toward heaven. He said in Exodus 17 in verse 11, lift your hands, Moses. God
1:28.8	commanded him to and as long as he had his hands in a physical posture raised toward heaven in
1:36.2	obedience to what God told him to do with a physical command and place of posture the way what he did with his body as long as he
1:47.8	had his hands raised the Bible said the Israelites defeated the Amalekites in the

1:54.0	But when he became fatigued and weary, his hands began to come down.
1:58.9	And two men, the High Priest Aaron and another man named her ran up under his arms and held his arms up toward
2:07.2	heaven because when his arms would go down, the battle would turn and the Amalekites would begin to defeat Israel.
