On January 2nd, 1965, a young man was born who would have his life

cut tragically short, a murder that remains unsolved and saw the wrong individuals placed behind

bars for the crime. So if you like your coffee hot, but your bones chilled, sit back and start

your day with a morning cup of murder.

On September 19, 1978, Carl Bridgewater was found shot to death inside the Store Bridge,

England home of Mary Poole and Fred Jones. Born January 2nd, 1965, Carl was delivering newspapers at the time of his murder,

and though Fred and Mary were not home at the time, police believed that the young boy must have

interrupted an intruder, was forced into the living room and onto the couch, and shot once in

the head at close range with a shotgun.

Desperate to know who killed the 13-year-old boy, police soon set their sights on four men,

Patrick Malloy, James Robinson, and cousins Michael and Vincent Hickey.

You see, there had been some more armed robberies in the area in

the months after Carl's death. And following the lead, police identified the men who would later

be referred to as the Bridgewater Four. On November 24th, James, one of the cousins and an unidentified

third man carried out an armed robbery at a Tesco in Birmingham.

And just six days later, James and both cousins robbed an elderly couple at Chapel Farm.
