The 11th and 12th centuries were eras of immense change in Europe and the wider world.

As the new millennium dawned, vast armaders of battle-hardened Viking warriors, many of them still pagans, regularly set sail to war, often claiming entire kingdoms

as their own, now led not by warlords but anointed kings. Within a generation, most Scandinavian

rulers were Christian, and by the 1100s, their marauding way of life, and even the ships they sailed in,

cutting-edge technology for centuries, had become obsolete.

How did this shift happen? And what became of the last Vikings?

This is a standalone documentary, delving into the fascinating history of the late Viking world,

on the verge of the medieval era.

It's also the fourth and final part in a series, charting the evolution of the Viking
