0:12.5	You don't see the devil or Satan talked about much in the news media. That's one reason I paid close attention to an interview the late Supreme Court Justice Antonine Scalia did with New York Magazine.
0:23.8	One reason this interview got a lot of attention is because it gets into faith.
0:28.3	And Scalia says that he believes in the Bible, he believes in heaven and hell.
0:32.6	He even said, I believe in the devil.
0:35.4	The person interviewing him asks, you do? And Scalia says, of course,
0:39.9	yeah, he's a real person. And the interviewer asked, have you seen evidence of the devil lately?
0:46.3	And Scalia says, you know, it is curious. In the gospels, the devil is doing all sorts of things.
0:51.8	He's making pigs run off cliffs. He's possessing people and
0:55.1	whatnot. And that doesn't happen very much anymore. It's because he's smart. Again, the interviewer
1:00.9	asked a question. He says, so what's he doing now? And Scalia says, what he's doing now is getting people
1:07.3	to not believe in him or in God. He's much more successful that way. I mean,
1:12.4	come on, that's the explanation for why there's not demonic possession all over the place.
1:17.0	That always puzzled me. What happened to the devil used to be all over the New Testament?
1:22.2	What happened to him? Well, he got wilerier. Again, the interviewer asks, isn't it terribly frightening to believe in the devil?
1:29.8	And Scalia says, you're looking at me as though I'm weird.
1:33.2	My God, are you so out of touch with most of America?
1:36.5	Most of which believes in the devil?
1:38.5	I mean, Jesus Christ believed in the devil.
1:41.0	It's in the gospels.
1:42.5	You travel in circles that are so removed from mainstream
