And so this week we're going to talk about ism quick.

In 1889, Wilmington, Delaware was a great place for people of cover after slavery.

Black people made up more than 50% of the population, prominent both the business community and the city government.

It was a biracial government on the morning of November 10th, about 2,000 white supremacist

stormed the streets of Wilmington with the goal to take over the city.

Isn't quick lived through the massacre, but he lost his business as it wouldn't, a coal dealer, and his land.

He was a charter for the black community called a bank called the Metropolitan Trust Company.

And so one of the things we always talk about is black Wall Street.

But what we don't realize is that there were so many different communities that represented that as well.

This was during the reconstruction period.

So the reconstruction period is after the Civil War, you know, we talked about that.

After the Civil War, we had black folks that really

helped, right? I just helped the Northerners win that Civil War. The Civil War, 100% was not

just about slavery. The Civil War was about economics. The people in the North,

so that the people in the South was making so much money off

free labor.

It's hard to compete with that.

That's what the Civil War was about.

Don't let nobody else tell you nothing different.

The people in the South said, y'all got us twisted.
