Summary

Journeying With Daniel: Daniel's trip to Babylon would consume most of his life. There were many things that he left behind but one thing he did not—his faithfulness to God. It is the secret to all true blessing. Purpose in your heart to be a faithful person to the end.

We live in a very mobile world. Everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere.

Today, we continue with Scott Pauli, our study through the great journeys of the Bible.

At this stage on my own personal journey with the Lord, I've been giving a lot of thought to

what is the thing that God blesses most? Is it talent? Is it ability? Is it something that we can

accomplish? And I have come to this deep conviction, that the thing that God blesses most

is one thing, it's faithfulness. It is the thing every one of us can be and can do. The Bible says

that most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness, but a faithful man who can find. The New Testament

declares that it is required in stewards that a man be found

faithful. And so today I want you to take a quick journey with me, if you will, with a man in the

Old Testament who I believe is the epitome of faithfulness. He is the example of what faithfulness

looks like, and that is Daniel. The Bible says in Daniel chapter 1, verse 1, in the third year of the reign of Jehoacum, King of Judah,

came Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, under Jerusalem, and besieged it.

And the Lord gave Jehoacum, King of Judah, into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his God,

and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his God.

Now, we understand this is the Babylonian captivity.

This is Nebuchadnezzar carrying away from Israel, from Judah, all of the captives.

And in that group, there is a young man who's taken captive named Daniel.

Now the Bible says in verse three, in the king spake in Ashpen as the master of his eunuchs,

that he should bring certain of the children of Israel and of the king's seed and of the princes,

children in whom was no blemish but well-favored and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning and knowledge
