Hello and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the no-chit-chat podcast.

We like to get right into it, and what we're going to get right into today is what John

Durham proved, John Durham being the special counsel investigating the investigation in

the Trump-Russia affair.

Now his latest trial, the trial of Michael Sussman, the Democratic lawyer, has gone to

the jury in Washington, D.C. and it might be decided by the time you're hearing this.

But there are some things that are important to say about the Durham investigation and

about this case that don't hinge on whether Michael Sussman is found guilty or not guilty.

Okay, just so you know, Sussman is the Democratic lawyer working on behalf of the Clinton

campaign, who was accused of lying to the FBI in 2016 when he was working on behalf of

the Clinton campaign, trying to plant a derogatory story about Donald Trump with the FBI.

The hope was that the FBI would start an investigation and then the campaign conversation,

and sort of the dominating media conversation, would be Donald Trump is under FBI investigation.

So that would have been a big hit if Sussman had gotten FBI investigation going for this

story.

Now, regardless of the verdict, there is no doubt that Sussman lied to the FBI.

I mean, there's no doubt that he's guilty.

But in this trial, the trial is taking place in Washington, D.C., which is perhaps the

deepest blue jury pool in the United States.

I want to read you something that Jonathan Turley, law professor at George Washington University

said that Durham's prosecutors are quote, facing a jury that has three Clinton donors, an

AOC donor, and a woman whose daughter is on the same sports team as Sussman's daughter.
