But the word zikr in our culture, in our tradition,

when somebody says, do a lot of zikr, what do we think?

What comes to mind?

Pray more raka. Say Allah, subhannalah, al-hambhah, la-Illah, al-Illah, al-A, al-A, al-A,

there's all kinds of ad-Mahmahmahmskār.

So what happens is the means of vikr, these are all means of vikr.

They become conflated and confused with Dhikr itself. They become conflated with Dhikr itself.

Thikr is a a presence of God in your heart. If you want to get the definition of

Dhikr, it's a presence of Allah felt in the heart.
