New vehicles come with a lot of bells and whistles and a lot of sensors collecting data.

A new study from the non-profit Mozilla Foundation is criticizing how much data car makers collect

Mozilla says car makers might know about what kind of music you like and how fast you drive,

but also it's collecting information such as genetics and medical histories.

Turns out cars are worse than just about everything else when it comes to privacy.

Many now have cameras, microphones, sensors and computers.

And most car companies say they can sell your personal data if they choose.

But say they'll share your information with the government or police at their request,

On Tuesday, the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, which represents car makers, sent a letter

to Congress saying companies share the goal of protecting people's privacy and urging

lawmakers to pass a national consumer privacy law.
