0:15.2	Corinthians 13 which is Paul's definition of love. If I were to talk to people who
0:21.6	know you pretty well people who spend a lot of time with you,
0:24.5	maybe a spouse or a friend or a co-worker, a sibling, it doesn't really matter, but people who know you well
0:29.8	and watch you and observe you in life, and I ask them to describe you, maybe start listing out words that describe your behavior,
0:38.0	how you think, how you process and do life.
0:41.0	How long would it take them to get to the word servant? How long would it take them to get to the word servant?
0:44.0	How long would it take them to say this person really
0:48.0	meets other people's needs instead of focusing only on their needs?
0:51.0	This person puts other people's interests above their own.
0:55.2	It's kind of convicting, isn't it? Because I think if people were describing me, people who know me well,
1:00.1	were listing out words that describe me in my life I'm not sure they would ever
1:04.8	get to the word servant and yet being a servant is at the heart of what it means to
1:12.1	love people.
1:13.0	We've been going through this chapter, 1st Corinthians 13,
1:17.0	phrase by phrase, looking at Paul's description of love.
1:21.0	We're seeing that love is very active and today we come to this
1:26.5	phrase that love is not proud. What does it mean to be proud?
1:33.0	And there's so many different ways that pride can be manifested in our life, but
1:38.4	prideful people think highly of themselves. And therefore, proud people are not servants.
