0:34.9 | Today we're going to be talking about what it means to be impeccable. We're going to be diving into this topic. But before I talk about being impeccable |
0:43.9 | I want to talk about perfect because being impeccable in striving to be impeccable with everything that you do does not mean that you have to be perfect because too many people come up to me whenever I see them in person they send me messages on Instagram |
0:59.9 | they say Rob like I have a deal with perfectionism I can't do you know I try my best and then I realize that I'm a perfectionist so I don't do this and I don't do this and I don't do this. If you think that you're perfectionist as we all do I'm just going to tell you this your perfectionism |
1:17.9 | quote unquote perfectionism is a mask that you're wearing to cover up some sort of fear. Perfectionism does not exist there will never be a human that is perfect and how boring would that be to be perfect in the first place. |
1:31.9 | You know but that perfectionism is a mask that you're wearing for something the feeling of not being good enough or not being smart enough maybe the fear of rejection the fear of other people's opinions the fear of letting your family down maybe the fear of dying alone or whatever it might be your perfectionism is a mask for some sort of fear. |
1:54.9 | And so when I'm talking about being impeccable do not think that I'm talking about being perfect because I don't expect to be anybody be perfect and if you expect yourself to be perfect you're going to let yourself down your entire life because there is no way that you'll ever be perfect and your perfection is in your perfection is in your imperfection you know and and Rambas always talks about this he says if you were to walk into a forest you don't look at a tree and be like oh my god that tree so fat you look at that branch on that tree it's so ugly. |
2:23.9 | No the tree is perfect in its imperfection just as every human so when I'm talking about impeccability today I'm not talking about being perfect okay. |
2:33.9 | Impeccability is to strive to be the best that you can be in everything that you do okay in every single thing that you do and here's the most important part of it it's not just the big things a lot of times what we focus on as people and I notice a lot of people |
2:49.9 | have a lot of people have coach over the years focus on is the biggest things in their life oh you know as long as I show up for this thing or as long as I show up for this thing and the big things happen in your life like what once every few months a couple of times a year maybe |
3:02.9 | there's something big but what about every single action that you do throughout the day because I'm more worried about and what I care more about is how you show up to all of the small things in your life |
3:15.9 | and if you are trying to be impeccable with everything and I'm talking about the little teeny tiny things big things matter short big things matter but I care more about the small things because you've heard me say it over and over and over again how you do one thing is how you do everything |
3:31.9 | and so how you show up to the small things if you can show up with impeccability in all of the small things in your life or as many of the small things as you possibly can you will definitely show up with you are being impeccable to the big things in your life as well so it's just like going okay well I want to be able to go and and bench 350 pounds well if you |
3:52.9 | have been benching the past six months and then you go and try to bench 350 pounds probably not going to be able to do it and so it's about showing up in those little reps that you get every single day with all the little things that you do I personally just really what I care about is how you show up to the most mundane things in your life more than anything else |
4:11.9 | the mundane little teeny tiny things and this is something that I've been sharing with my team for for the past probably six months right is the standards that we have in the the way that we show up to the smallest things in our lives you know we have about |
4:26.9 | right around 20 employees at this point right now and the results in the business their paychecks all of that stuff will be equal to everything else that they do and so if they're not waking up on time and doing their morning routines and going through their goals and going through their journaling |
4:40.9 | they're probably not going to show up to the business or even their entire life the way that they could if they were to go through and be impeccable with what time they wake up be impeccable with thinking about their goals be impeccable about their meditation be impeccable |
4:53.9 | their workouts right the results in this business in my business will be equal to the way that they show up in the little teeny tiny things in their life and so we've been really diving into with them what it means to be impeccable so this is important for you but if you've got you know if you're a manager and you've got employees under you or if you own a business |
5:09.9 | and you have employees this is important for you to talk about with people who are around you as well because the way you do one thing is the way you do everything so a good example and I always talk about these are like the little teeny mundane things if you end up you know having lunch and you're at your house and it's a Saturday |
5:25.9 | and you don't have a whole lot going on but you eat some lunch and you have your dishes do you go ahead and just throw those dishes inside of the sink and say oh I'll get to it later or do you say you know what I understand the way you do |
