I think we could agree that every culture has its temples.

What's been the temple of the United States?

It's easy to say government, sure, that's been a temple for many people.

You know what else has been a temple?

Our financial security, it's been a temple of sorts. And God reminds us that you can go ahead and trust in horses and

chariots or the word of God. It doesn't mean you shouldn't have horses and chariots.

Doesn't mean that you shouldn't wisely invest. In fact, we're called to wisely invest.

But it does mean that we shouldn't trust in these things.

I think God's doing a fantastic job of making it really difficult to trust in the financial temples

You think God invented math?

I don't know that he invented math. I mean he's a creator of all things. But I think what

God has done is he's given us tools so that we can understand his work. I'm a huge fan of the notion

that God signs his work and that he likes it when we admire his work.

There's many instances of the Psalms of Psalmists,

praising the beauty of God's creation

and how the skies work together and the separation

of the many elements. There's plenty of instances in the Psalms where people praise the beauty of God's people, of women that's common in the Psalms, of tastes, very common in the Psalms to talk about sweeter than honey, more precious than gold.

Honey was a big deal then. I mean they didn't have processed sugar to the degree that we do

now. I'm sure they had ways to process honey, but I think God likes it when we admire his creation,
