All right, welcome into another K time. It's Chris Chavez, All-American. Well, I'm Corey Clark. That's Chris Chavez, the other guy, the former All-American, ESPN broadcaster, Noel graduate, all that good stuff. Here to talk about another weekend of Florida State baseball. And Chris, first off, again, I like to do the overview first, just kind of wrap up the series as a whole. I thought it was a good weekend. I thought it was a good weekend. You went two out of three and you wrap up the number three seed in the ACC tournament, which means you finish third in probably the second toughest conference in America. That's a good regular season, right? Yeah, absolutely. And, you know, like you said, I mean, you wrap it up. It's a tough way to go out and lose the Sunday game, the way that it happened. You just kind of fell apart there at the end of the game. But again, as a whole, like you said, great weekend. Two out of three, you'll take it all day against your archival. And I think that, again, I think like these games, these weekends have been a nice

recipe of what it will take to somehow make a magical run this year and get to Omaha and maybe

do some things there is your starting pitching was really good. Mendez was the least effective

of the three, which is always a good weekend when that's the case.

I guess just tell me what you thought about Moore and Beard.

And then Mendez, too, like the three of them all pitched over six innings are into the seventh inning.

That's what you need, especially when you don't know the health of Abraham you're going to

need length out of your starters right yeah absolutely I think you as a coaching staff going into

postseason you couldn't be more happy with what you saw from your three starters again obviously

like you said probably the worst start of the year for Mendez as a whole I mean if you really

think about it and he still was like you said got said, got to the seventh. And then you got Beard, who finally got to when you got to see what you've been wanting to see from Beard. He added that cutter a lot more that showed what him and Coach Posey have been working on. So now he's got that pitch into his repertoire, which I think is only going to help him do better. and then more to me was outstanding. I thought more looked great. Fastball command is exactly where you want it to be. Secondary stuff was there when he needed it. Not a lot of strikeouts, but when you're beating guys with the fastball and they're not making good contact and they're not barreling anything, keep going at them until they show they can do something. Really efficient, too. I think he was taken out with 82 pitches.

Yeah.

I guess we'll focus on the negative first.

Sometimes that's how it happens in baseball anyway, but also it was the last game they played.

Yeah.

What did you think about the decision to take him out?

For the people that don't know, he was at 82 pitches.

Was it two outs in the eighth inning?

Is that right?

Yeah, correct.

And Lincoln Posey took him out.

He had retired the first two in that inning.
