In China, UFOs are politically dangerous information.

That's the year of Mao's chairman Mao.

And during that period of time, you're talking 27 years, that China allowed only one truth.

That was the party truth.

And UFOs implied unknown forces beyond party control. And therefore, discussion

of UFOs was explicitly treated as counter-revolutionary.

audience you got great people here you must do to come back, peek behind the curtain folks. It may only be second since we finished the last recording, but it'll have been a few days in your world since that one passed. Maybe you're watching them back to back, who knows. But a big thank you to Richard for his time. Richard, we spent a lot of time, and we've always spent a lot of time talking about

the Western lens on the UFO topic. The phenomenon is not American. Even I get folks commenting

on the YouTube channel, Richard, about my accent, not being from the States and everything like

that. This is a worldwide phenomenon, and I think that's often overlooked.

And in this day and age, it's particularly pertinent. I'd love to know if Roswell is the mythical

starting point for many folks of the UFO topic or modern uphology, let's talk about China.

How does that begin?

Well, so, you know, a few things.

I don't even speak Chinese.

I am not a China expert in any reasonable way to put that.

I have an interest in China.

I have an interest in Chinese history, all of that.

But that doesn't make me an expert.
