| 0:00.0 | What does it mean to say that you're Catholic? |
| 0:10.0 | I'm Father Matt Lowry in the Diocese of Phoenix at Northern Arizona University, and we're |
| 0:15.0 | going to talk today about what does it mean when we say that we're Catholic? |
| 0:18.0 | To start from, we're going to look at the Nicene Creed that |
| 0:22.0 | Catholics say every single Mass. We say we are one holy Catholic and apostolic church. |
| 0:28.9 | And something that's interesting is other Christians will actually profess the Nicene |
| 0:33.4 | Creed also, but they're not Catholic. So there's like Catholic Christians who say |

| 1:12.1 | fixed, if you will, coming down to us from the apostles, and they don't change based on |
| 1:18.4 | the leadership or whatnot. They're only deepened in our understanding of those things. And so there's |
| 1:23.9 | this unity, when someone says, I'm a Roman Catholic, I'm a Catholic Christian, |
| 1:29.9 | that we know what that means, that there's a unity. |
| 1:32.9 | We feel a connection with each of our brothers and sisters. |
| 1:36.6 | You know, St. Paul says in Ephesians 4 that there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. |
| 1:43.0 | That what Jesus wanted in John 17, he prays to the Father, Father, |
| 1:48.0 | that we may be one, that they may be one as we are one. And so that's Jesus' prayer from the |
