Hey everybody, welcome to Left Rating Center, I am David Green.

You know, we often say that on our show we take on issues that might divide our own family

and quite literally this week my wife and I have been having some really difficult conversations

about what's happening in Gaza right now.

So we're living up to that.

Sarah Isger and Moa Lathe are here as always and we're also joined by Shadi Hamid.

He's a columnist and also editorial board member at the Washington Post.

Let's just catch up a little bit on what's happened this week.

President Biden became the first US president to visit Israel during a time of war.

He offered solidarity support for the Israeli government as it responds to the terrorist

attack that was carried out by Hamas.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was clear that he is seeking the complete eradication

of Hamas and its political control over Gaza and we've probably all seen the images,

civilians in Gaza fleeing, being injured, being killed.

All while Hamas continues to hold some Israelis hostage and as Israelis continue to mourn

those who were killed in the attack on October 7th by Hamas.

So President Biden went to Tel Aviv, first time a US president goes to Israel during war time

and here's just a bit of what he had to say.

We're going to make sure we have what you have what you need to protect your people

to defend your nation.
