We who live or have lived with a seemingly hopeless problem of addiction understand as perhaps few others can.

So much depends on our own attitudes and we believe that changed

rather than program.

So I got this email from Mark, was kind of thought-provoking, and I thought, well, maybe it's time to talk about what the podcast is and what it isn't I think again I think we've done it but anyway it's been a while if so Mark writes

Thanks again for your service one of the things that I was curious and at times concerned about was the ways that your show relates

to or compliments or differs from a formal 12-step meeting and program.

I like the way you make the distinction clearly at the outset, but I wonder if you ever discuss or have had a show about these topics.

From your sharing about the meetings you attend, I can see that you are careful not to breach any confidentiality,

and the net impression I get is a real respect for the ways and means

of formal 12-step programs. But do you ever worry that your seemingly more relaxed discussions
