0:27.7	Luke's narrative begins with an older couple named Zachariah and Elizabeth who didn't have any children.
0:33.7	Zachariah was in the middle of a really special day.
0:37.5	He was a priest for the Jewish nation,
0:39.8	and his division was on duty serving the temple for the week.
0:43.2	This job only came around twice a year and this time
0:46.9	Zachary's lot was chosen among all the other priests.
0:50.3	He would be the one who would go into the temple to burn the incense and pray while the people of the Lord prayed outside.
0:58.0	It was as close as you could get physically speaking to God, as the one designated to go into the most sacred part of the temple
1:05.1	to pray for the nation.
1:07.6	It's interesting to imagine all the things
1:09.6	Zachariah would have prayed for that day in the temple.
1:15.0	Israel was in a dark oppressed time, so of course he prayed for the nation.
1:17.0	They were ruled by Herod, who was like a puppet under the Roman king.
1:21.0	They'd also been waiting so very long for God to come to them, as he
1:25.8	had promised. And the prophets had been silent for hundreds of years. Surely Zachariah
1:31.5	would have prayed for the Lord to break through this darkness.
1:34.4	But this also would have been a time when Zachariah's most intimate prayers
