Hello and welcome to Pantsuit Politics where we take a different approach to the news.

Today is my birthday, happy birthday to me, and we have a very special episode for you today.

As most of you know, my youngest son Felix was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last year,

and I have learned so much during this past year about myself and about parenting and about politics

and about our healthcare system all through the lens of diabetes.

So I wanted to invite some of my favorite people in the diabetic community on to talk about that.

First up, you are going to hear from diabetes educator Neil Greathouse,

known as the Beaties on social media. Next, you're going to hear from Stacey Sims,

author of the world's worst diabetes mom. She has, in fact, not the world's worst diabetes mom.

We get to that. And also the host of the podcast, diabetes connection. And then

you're going to hear from my son Felix, who spoke with me about his time at diabetes camp.

Now this is not just an episode for people with diabetes. In fact, the entire inspiration

for this episode is how much diabetes can illuminate even if you have no idea what a CGM

or an A1C or a PDM even is. So I hope that you will join us for the conversation afterwards
