Well, many of you know that I spoke at a conference this past weekend where the conference

director, who was also the senior pastor's wife,

who also served as the children's minister, was tragically killed last week when she was out running.

And after much prayer, the team decided to move ahead of the conference.

And a number of you said, you were praying for me and wanted to know how it went.

You know, scripture says that precious in the sight of the Lord

is the death of his saints. And I got to tell you, we stepped into the most sacred grief space

we've ever been a part of. I can't even explain it. On one hand, they felt deeply confident that

Marie would have wanted them to move ahead with this conference, yet they

were just in the throes of grief. But there were people coming from other communities for this

conference as well, and they're an outreach type of church. I can't even explain what it was like,

but what I can tell you is that heaven is so near. When God comes to take his children

home, heaven is so near. It's just, you had this palpable sense of eternity, just hovering overhead.
