True story. I have a vivid memory of being

about seven or eight years old and sitting in my family's living room right in our most

comfortable armchair watching TV when all of the sudden. I felt a shooting pain in my leg. It wasn't terrible, but it was so

surprising and random. I yelled to my mom, Mom, growing pains. And she said, no, honey, it's not good

for you. I was like, what? What did she mean? So I said, what do you mean, mom? And then she said, it's not appropriate for children. What? Turns out, she thought I was talking about the TV sitcom Growing Paints that aired from 1985 to 1992. She thought I wanted to watch it.

We cleared up that misunderstanding, but even now, after all these years, I still don't

understand exactly what caused that weird, random pain in my leg.
