0:44.0	fighting against gun violence. Prior to founding Mums Demand Action,
0:47.5	Watts was a stay-at-home mother and former communications executive working for Fortune 100 companies.
0:52.8	The day after the Sandy Hook school shooting, Watts started a Facebook group to bring women
0:57.1	together to stand against the gun lobby, just as mothers against drunk driving had done to
1:01.2	bring mothers together against the alcohol lobby in the 80s. Over time, the online conversation
1:06.0	turned into a grassroots movement that now finds a Mums Demand Action chapter in every state in
1:10.7	America. And together with their partner, every town for gun safety, they now have over 8
1:15.4	million supporters, larger than the National Rifle Association. For over nine years, Mums Demand
1:20.8	Action volunteers have been incredibly successful stopping the NRA's influence over legislation.
